AV to HDMI converter box (costs around $20) HDMI cable. Connect your SNES using the original yellow (video)/red/white (audio) cables to the input ports on the converter. Run an HDMI cable from the converter‘s output to an open HDMI port on your TV. Set your TV to the correct HDMI input.
Then, connect Sky and the DVD to the TV with Scart leads and use a third scart to connect the VCR to the sky box. Or, you can connect the DVD to the TV by the red, yellow and white leads (RCA) and then connect the VCR and sky both to the TV by scart and sky to the VCR by scart. Plus, the TV aerial should be connected to sky, an RF (aerial-like
There is absolutely nothing to be gained by connecting the SCART to the same TV as the HDMI. And even less point replacing HDMI with SCART. Not if you want to watch HD programmes in full HD. You could connect the SCART to a separate DVD recorder, for example, if you so wished. It should work alongside the HDMI to the TV OK.
What if my new TV has no SCART socket? If your TV doesn’t have a SCART socket, then you can get an ‘RF Modulator box’ – it converts a SCART feed to an aerial feed. It creates a “Modulated” TV channel that your TV can tune into. Plug a SCART socket in one end, and an aerial lead to your TV in the other, and then tune in the TV.
Connect the Cables. First, connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your DVD player. Then, connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your smart TV. If your DVD player or TV doesn’t have an HDMI port, you can use a composite or component cable instead. Connect the yellow, red, and white RCA cables to the corresponding ports
The Humax only uses the TV as a monitor allowing you to view the EPG and select the programme (s) you want to record. Once that is done the TV plays no further part in the process. It doesn't even need to be on the same planet much less connected to the Humax. The TV can be used totally independently of the Humax.
On your picture all you need connected are the Yellow (video) and Red/White (audio) from the grey AV connector. DO NOT use the PC/DVI 3.5mm socket. Get a switchable Scart to 3 pin RCA Phono lead and plug the scart end into your DVDR's AV1 socket with the switch on the scart set to "Out".
Hi. So recently my old SCART compatible TV stopped working, so we purchased a new 4K Smart TV. I’ve had to purchase a SCART to HDMI lead to connect stuff like my DVD player, and of course the VCR. The cable works fine for the DVD player and for my PS2, but for some reason the TV refuses to recognise when I connect the VCR.
